I lost my driving license due to a medical condition. I was informed about the DRD NI Concessionary Fares Scheme which would give me half price fares on the train and bus to get to work. On presenting my card at the train station I found that it was not really half price travel on a return ticket that I normally purchase, but half of the single journey fare. Surely the fare price should be caculated on the ticket you purchase. How many people who use the Half Fare Smartpass only purchase a one way ticket? Of course I am glad of any discount I receive. Up until now I had never used the train or bus service but I must say that they provide a very good service and the staff are very helpful.
