3 April 2009 - Accessible transport consultation

The Department for Regional Development has launched the consultation on the latest Action Plan for the Accessible Transport Strategy (ATS).  The ATS was published in 2005 and aims to improve access to transport for older people and disabled people by removing the barriers that make accessing and using services difficult.  The latest action plan sets out what the DRD proposes to do over the next 3 years (2009-2012).

The DRD are seeking peoples views on the draft Action Plan.  Imtac will be assisting the Department to distribute information and facilitate a number of consultation meetings.  The consultation document (including an easy read version) and details of the meetings are available on the DRD website at http://www.drdni.gov.uk/ats

Imtac would encourage anyone with an interest in the issues covered by the ATS to give their views.  The closing date for responses is the 7th July 2009.
