The draft Code sets out the scope and application of the Regulations upon transport providers, and explains the extent of the new rights for disabled people. Transport providers will be under a legal duty not to treat disabled people less favourably than other service users, and to make reasonable adjustments to make their services accessible. Transport services affected include: buses and coaches, taxis, trains, rental vehicles and breakdown / recovery services.
The Equality Commission is keen to hear the views of all interested parties and will be holding consultation events throughout
