13 January 2010 - Restricted Zone Access Permits

Roads Service has launched a 12 week consultation on a draft Equality Impact Assessment into the procecdures and management of access permits in relation to restricted pedestrian zones.  The draft EQIA has a particular focus on the impact of the policy on Blue Badge holders.  Currently there are twelve towns and cities across Northern Ireland that have pedestrian zones.

The purpose of the consultation is obtain views on the draft Eqia and proposed changes to the policy and to listen to any further suggestions with regard to the policy.
