Imtac has published revised guidelines designed to help transport providers in Northern Ireland make their information accessible to all passengers. Disabled people and older people experience barriers to accessing services such as transport. Whilst barriers can be physical such as steps on a bus often not being able to access the appropriate information about a service can make that service inaccessible.
Imtac published similar Guidelines a number of years ago. These have now been revised to take account of technological developments and good practice. The guidelines provide comprehensive advice on why it is important to make information accessible and how transport providers can achieve this.
The Guidelines are available on the publications section of this website. Alternatively hard copies and copies in alternative formats can be obtained by contacting Michael Lorimer at Imtac.
