From today people who are sixty and over can travel for free on public transport in Northern Ireland. To make use of this concession older people must apply for the 60+ Smartpass. Details about how to apply can be found on the following website www.sixtysmart.pass.info.com or by telephoning 0845 600 0049. There is also a textphone facility for people who are deaf or hard of hearing - 028 9038 7505. Unfortunately the smartpass can only be used for travel in Northern Ireland and cannot currently be used on cross border services.
Imtac welcomes the extension of free travel to more older people and would encourage everyone eligible to apply for the smartpass.
