Glider staff benefit from 1st Class Training

Today marked the end of an intensive period of training for staff involved in the delivery of the new Glider service. For the first time Translink has used Disability Equality Training, developed and delivered by disabled people, to ensure that staff providing the service deliver first class customer service to disabled and older passengers.

The training was delivered by trainers from Transport for All, an organisation of disabled people from London with extensive experience of delivering DET to Transport for London. The training included staff travelling on real world journeys with local disabled people as their guides.

Imtac is delighted that Translink followed its advice and used DET for the Glider service. We were delighted to work with Transport for All and local disabled people to ensure the training was a sucess and we look forward to rolling out a disabled people led approach to training across other areas of Translink.
